US unemployment rate hit a six-year low in September

This article also talked about the low rate of unemployment for uneducated Americans this past September. The authors of this article took a positive approach to this drop in the unemployment rate. They were trying to convince the readers that this drop was a good thing for the economy. They did not mention that this drop was mostly due to people who stopped looking for jobs. The article did state that 248,000 low skill jobs were created in September, but I do not believe that this is a large number in terms of the entire economy of the United States. This article was obviously biased in its views and the points that it made.

The United States labor department claims that 69,000 jobs were created between July and August of this year than was projected by economists. You may think this is a pretty good number. That is not the case. Over 100,000 Americans stopped looking for jobs at that time. This article does not give the full story.  Another thing mentioned in this article was a quote by Paul Nolte, who is an economist from Chicago. He said "This (jobless) number will continue to support the notion that the economy is growing." I completely agree with him when he says this. People are being tricked into thinking that everything is going great in the American economy, when in reality things are not all that great. If people would do the research themselves they would easily figure all this out.

  1. Solid blog Billy. I completely agree with what you are saying. America can provide a lot of low end jobs, but the jobs do not serve any benefit is no one wants to work. A wise man once said "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink"

  3. This makes you think about the numbers you see and how they are not always a good representation of the facts.
